If I don’t stop and take a ‘walk’ break when I’m working on the computer, then I start to feel achy or restless. I like working at my computer, because I’m usually writing or researching. I love to research just for fun. But, my eyes tire out easily, even with reading glasses and my hands/wrists, etc. experience overuse discomfort, so I must remind myself to take more frequent breaks. It wasn’t my usual style in the past. I used to type for a long time, basically until I was very tired and cranky, because I wanted to finish what I had started, especially when I was writing an article or updating a web site. I don’t push myself as hard as that anymore. I will admit to pushing a little more than I should, because it’s an old habit. But, I know if I do that, I will regret it. I will need to rest my hands for a bit before either returning to the p.c. or working on some other activity. How do you take care of your hands and eyes when you work at your computer?
