The Lord Is My Shepherd (Part 2)
The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want.
Psalm 23:1
~The Lord~
He is in charge of my life.
He will be in charge of the world when it ends.
He deserves worship and praise.
He is in a higher place of authority than I am.
~My Shepherd~
I am his sheep.
Taking care of my welfare is his responsibility.
When I am weak, He carries me over His shoulders until I am well again.
When I wander from the flock, He calls my name to direct me back to the flock.
I am His sheep and He is my leader, protector, guide and Shepherd.
~I~
I am a child of the Lord’s grace.
By the Lord’s mercy I have been put under His loving and caring charge.
I belong grazing and learning from the other sheep and undershepherds.
I am one of many receipients of the Lord’s great and mighty love.
~Shall not want~
I’ve been told that to want means to lack.
The Shepherd has promised that I shall not lack.
I shall not lack in basic areas of food, water, shelter, work, friends and family/community.
But how can that be?
My Shepherd knows exactly what I need, He knows what every one of his sheep needs. He takes care of everyone of us uniquely, until we are ready to pull our own weight again.
Thank You Jesus, for being such a Mighty and gentle Shepherd. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
