A Holiday Promise - 12/18/06

“As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness; I will be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake.”
Psalm 17:15

This is a loving reminder to me from the Lord, that I will see Him when my life is over. Mortality issues were all over the news this weekend, and still are because of the search for the climbers on Mt. Hood in Oregon. I am grateful that I do have this promise from the Lord. I don’t take it lightly and I don’t take it for granted. I know that if something should ever happen to me, I will go to a better and very real place. I am comforted by that. However, at this point, I am not dwelling on that promise because I have work to do today and a holiday celebration to prepare for in the next week.

Awesome - 12/18/06

Awesome

I’ve been listening off and on to the rescue journey news of the hikers lost on Mt. Hood in Oregon.

I have such respect for them, for the rescuers and for the mountain itself. It’s incredibly beautiful, from nearly any angle. It’s also very treacherous. I am not a mountain climber by any stretch of the imagination. But Mt. Hood by it’s very nature dominates the Oregon landscape.

A PICTURE OF YOU(PART 1)

Since it is the season for taking pictures among other traditions I thought I’d share a short journal exercise with you. I hope that you can use it sometime before the end of the year or at the beginning of 2007. It’s designed to help you reflect about yourself and your life at anytime during the day. You can use it anytime, but I think holiday times are especially appropriate. Happy journaling!

What About Networking (Part 3) - 12/08/06

WHY: I’m going to spend less time on these last two areas, because I’ve touched on them in more detail already. Why do I want to network? It helps my business. Even if it isn’t my strength, in the long run, meeting people on a regular basis, building relationships with them, exchanging referrals, developing friendships over time all will enrich me, which will have a positive impact on my business. I’m reminding myself here, that I don’t know what I will need from whom in the future. So,if I haven’t set up a good networking base, I might miss an important opportunity, tool or person. How will I know what I missed or what I could have learned, if I don’t continue to network? What I do know from discussing this matter with other business owners is that networking can help me contact potential clients, find clients, gain recognition for my business and continue to expand my database.
